I know we’ve had some… words about Network Chuck in the past, but I decided to toss on his most recent video to have something in the background, and it appears he was sent some goodies from PATCHBOX. While the majority of their stuff is things I would consider in an office, and not a homelab, I did find one product they sent along neat.
/dev/Mount is a quick mounting system for 2 post networking and half depth server gear. If you’re familiar with RackStuds, /dev/Mount is the heavier duty version of these. While RackStuds are great (I use them everywhere), they’re plastic, so if you’ve got something back-heavy, there’s a non-zero chance that they’ll shear off. And while RackStuds have radically improved over time, if I had really heavy stuff, I’d be worried that they’d be sufficient to hold heavy things, like a 3 or 4U server loaded down with hard drive or other heavy bits.

Amazon has them for $89 US for 50, which is certainly more pricy than traditional rack nuts, and still significantly more expensive than a pack of RackStuds, especially if you don’t need to rack 25 things (RackStuds still sells in 20 counts, which is a much more homelab friendly quantity). That said, I don’t think they’re overpriced so much as they are a premium product.
