Not really a question but I would like to self host more.
Sadly I do not have a good idea on where to start! What would be a good way to start building and testing it (cheap hardware, good tutorials, internet providers, etc ..)?
My end goal would be to host some object storages services (https://garagehq.deuxfleurs.fr/) and some other tools that I like ( Appendix – Shiny Server Pro {{< env PRODUCT_VERSION >}} ). I have done the last one in the past in a small VM hosted in OVH (French provider), It worked but I did not set any monitoring/logs and I felt that I was mostly copy-pasting the documentation like magic incantations.
I am aware of S3, Azure Storage and I can survive with heir app runner (using docker) but would like to avoid them for personal project.
I am aware that those are very broad questions and they do not need to be fully covered (or discussed)!
